A Week Until National Poetry Month

I was going to just update this week’s Roundup of Children’s Literacy & Reading News with a link to Gregory K’s big announcement at GottaBook, but it is just way too cool for a mere link. So here it is in Greg’s words …

Every day in April, [GottaBook will] be posting a previously unpublished poem by a different poet. Here’s the alphabetical list of who’s participating:

Arnold Adoff, Jaime Adoff, Rebecca Kai Dotlich, Douglas Florian, Betsy Franco, Kristine O’Connell George, Charles Ghigna, Nikki Giovanni, Joan Bransfield Graham, Nikki Grimes, Mary Ann Hoberman, Lee Bennett Hopkins, X. J. Kennedy, Julie Larios, J. Patrick Lewis, Pat Mora, Kenn Nesbitt, Linda Sue Park, Ann Whitford Paul, Gregory K. Pincus, Jack Prelutsky, Adam Rex, Jon Scieszka, Joyce Sidman, Marilyn Singer, April Halprin Wayland, Janet Wong, and Jane Yolen.

I have to agree with Susan Thomsen at Chicken Spaghetti. We will be going Rhyme Crazy …  “Every month is fun on the children’s literature sites, but April is especially festive, what with the verses and such popping up like daffodils.”
