book club ideasBook Clubs are a great way to engage older and/or independent readers with books. They can also be a great way to start a conversation about a hard-to-talk-about subject without it seeming personal or “hitting home.”

A book club can be as few as two people, can be narrowly or widely defined, and as formal or informal as you want. The keys to success are

  • Picking a book that looks mutually interesting.
  • Setting a deadline for when you will discuss the book.
  • Having readers jot down some questions as you read to get the discussion started.

The books on our list are for Preteens, Teens, and Young Adults. Clicking the book card takes you to our review, where you can learn a little bit more about the book to see if it is the right fit for you.

Happy reading!
