If you listened to my interview on Getting to the Heart of the Matter, you know I don’t like fundraising. Aside from being allergic to math, I just don’t have a very strong “sales” gene. That is partly why I use as much passive fundraising as possible for the Reading Tub.
Well, Goodsearch, a Yahoo-powered Search Engine for Good, is pushing me out of my shell … at least for a couple of days. For three days – April 6 at 9:am EST to April 9 9:am EST – Goodsearch is donating $1 for each toolbar that is downloaded during that time period to the user’s designated nonprofit or school up to $5,000! Of course, we’d like your nonprofit of choice to be us.
Here’s how it works. If you download and add our toolbar to your browser, we get $1.00. We use that $1.00 to BUY a book or SHIP 5-10 books (depends on format). It costs you nothing and you’re helping readers all over the United States with just a few clicks.
1. Go to Goodsearch.com.
2. Enter “Reading Tub” in the Who do you Goodsearch for? You should get Reading Tub (Keswick, VA)
3. Click “Get the Goodsearch Toolbar or add us to your search box”
4. Download the Toolbar.
The Reading Tub is a 100% volunteer organization. We don’t use grant funding, we don’t have formal fundraisers, we do what passive fundraising adds to the coffers … and right now, I have CLOSETS full of new books I would love to ship to at-risk readers and readers in need, from infant to teen.
Use our toolbar for a day, use it for a week, fall in love with it and use it all the time … however you use it, Thank You!
If you can share this link and encourage others to download it – well, I’d be speechless!
