With Halloween behind us and Thanksgiving around the corner, the Holiday marketing machine is in overdrive. For me, the constant messaging took the fun out of what should be a joyous season. Starting with
What should I get [insert name here]?
Kids or adults. It didn’t matter, I would stress over finding that just-right gift that fit the budget. That all changed when I decided to give books as gifts.
Of our Top 5 reasons to give books as gifts, my favorite is that choosing to give a book is a thoughtful gift. It says “I am thinking about you, and I picked this because I know you like [topic].”
And you don’t have to stress about finding that book by yourself. Visit your local independent bookstore. Tell the staff about the interests and passions of your intended recipient. They are sure to help you find that special book!
