Poetry Friday: Feeling Mushy (update)

Update: In my walk down memory lane, I forgot to mention that today’s Poetry Friday roundup is at Picture Book of the Day, hosted by Anastasia Suen.
Next week Bill and I  celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary. Wow! Where has the time gone? In honor of this auspicious occasion — and the fact that I want something uplifting going into a memorial weekend — here is one of my favorite poems about marriage.

Today I marry my friend

The one I laugh with

live for, dream with, love.

Cute sidebar: Catherine wasn’t there “back on the day,” but she will help us commemorate this one! This summer, she found one of my bridesmaid’s dresses in the back of my closet. She has been counting the days until she can wear it … next Wednesday!

  1. Congratulations! And thanks for sharing what are patently very special, warm and loving memories with us. From one Scrub-a-Dub fan comes a request: if it’s okay with you and Catherine, could we see a snap of her in the bridesmaid’s dress? Or wow, go the whole way and put Mum and Dad in their gear too!

Regardless, hoping you have a wonderful day, week, month, year.

    1. Thanks, Susan. I don’t know what would be harder. Fitting me into my mom’s wedding dress (which is what I wore) or getting Bill into ANY tuxedo!
