Reader-to-Reader Gift Guide: #YoungAdult Adventure, Fantasy & Mystery

Yesterday we shared realistic fiction novels our teen volunteers loved. Today we have the “I would buy this book” recommendations that fall into the adventure, fantasy, and/or mystery genres.

Need that idea right this minute? Check out our Just for Young Adults list on Bookshop.

If on-time-for-Christmas arrival is a concern, consider a gift card.

Buy this book. The book is unique and not something you will not read anywhere else. Plus, you’re going to want to re-read it.

When I read the description I wasn’t sure this book would be my forte, but it sucked me in straight away. I am usually not a fan of mysteries unless it’s fantasy, but two pages in I wasn’t able to put it down until I finished the book completely. What is truly amazing about this book is that it is for everyone from middle school to adults.

This is one of the best book series I have ever read. I would buy this for myself and a friend. If you liked Twilight, you will like the Fallen series and this book. The paranormal romance is well done, and the biblical inferences make it intriguing and interesting.

Fantasy | Paranormal | Romance | Series

NOTE: Torment is Book 2 in this duology. Fallen is Book 1.

Despite the heavier topics of death and loss, humor is woven throughout the story. The friendship dynamic with Jack and his best friends Jillian and Franny is also good. Buy this book for yourself or a loved one.

Representation & Inclusion | Romance | Science Fiction | Time Travel

This book is a testament not only to the strength of women, but also the preciousness of love, the irreplaceability of the truth, and the thrill of a magical adventure. With its daring adventure, magical creatures, and fantastic mountain wilderness, readers will discover a thrilling story that will leave you breathless as you crest the peaks of your imagination and reach for the stars.

NOTE: All the Wandering Light is Book 2 in this duology.
