There are no literary shortcomings in this book. However, for the reader who might want to learn more about one or other of the heroines, a source for more information would have been helpful.
The text is informative, laid out in an organized format, and written in language that is easy for young adults to understand. This book has a very inspiring theme: women are just as capable and powerful as men. This book helps people of modern societies not only appreciate the contributions made by women but also appreciate what they have helped bring to our lives today, such as the right to vote, the arts, color equality, and so on. It also helps us gain more knowledge of our history. This book is geared mostly toward young adults of 9 to 13, and would be valuable in classrooms as well as at home. Deborah Felder has masterfully combined knowledge and inspiration into this book.
