Through their presence, trees give us strength, courage, wisdom. From the fragrant blossoms of the Kapok tree to the fruit of the pomegranate, folktales offer the legends of some of the world's most wonderful trees.
This folktale collection captures classic stories of friendship, wisdom, and courage. The pictures add a lot to the book.
This is a good book for anyone. This was cool. I liked the pictures. I liked how the stories were different. I picked this book because I could read it to my cousin, and I would read it again.
It is hard to decide which is more captivating: the folktales or the illustrations. These stories beg to be read aloud. The author has mastered this genre, not only bringing to life traditional stories, but also writing one of her own.
This collection of tales from around the world describes the magical history of trees.
There is plenty to grow on with this book. The stories may encourage further study folklore traditions of the various cultures (Chinese, Guatemalan, Japanese, Indian, Nigerian, Moroccan, Jewish), or more history of the trees themselves (Cypress, Kapok, Chestnut, Cherry Blossom, Palm Tree, Fig Tree, Pomegranate).
