We're off to Borneo!

Summary:

It is a really long way from Riley's house to Borneo! Uncle Max, Aunt Martha, Alice and Riley used almost every type of transportation to get to Gunung Palung National Park! On this trip, in addition to studying and spying jungle animals, Uncle Max is also trying to understand more about strangler figs and fig wasps.

Reader Enjoyment Factors:

This story is packed with photos, facts, and explanations that can guide children in studying the world around them. The book will appeal to nature lovers, budding scientists and conservationists, adventure-loving kids and their parents.

Content Awareness Factors:

None.

Little Kid Reaction

Other than the expected "ew, gross" you would expect when reading about dung collection, our child liked this book. S/He always enjoys hearing about the different animals. We had to study the blimp (and answer lots of questions) for a long time.

Parent Reaction

Riley always reminds us how little we know about other parts of the world and the creatures that inhabit the earth. We enjoy the positive stories and the fact that they offer something for all of us when we read together.
