This is a series of poems about animals and their characteristic movement styles.
You'll find four great things in this book: sweet illustrations, fun movement, inspiring vocabulary, and a wide variety of animals.
Some of the poems were less substantive. There are lots of poems, and some of them are long. This could be a detractor for younger ages.
My son loved the variety of animals and hearing about their movement styles. He would often describe the movements of the animals with which he was familiar.
I loved the soft, fun illustrations. However, we could only read a handful of poems at a time because the material was dense and long for a 3-year-old. They also prompted extra discussion.
Get kids moving with these poems that take an animal's movement to create an exercise.
This would be an excellent book for a preschool or kindergarten class to use as a movement activity. I would recommend picking out one or two poems at a time/per session. At that rate, it could be used throughout the year.

Buy. This is an excellent book for educators. Although it can be fun at home, it is probably better suited for group settings, like preschool or Kindergarten classes.
