Auntie Claus And The Key To Christmas

Summary:

Young Chris Kringle decides that the best way to see if Santa is real is to do everything possible to be on the Bad Boys and Girls List. With his sister Sophie's help, Chris discovers that his way may not be the best way to see Christmas.

Reader Enjoyment Factors:

The book is clever and well illustrated. Paired with the original, it has the makings of a seasonal reading tradition for MANY years. Even our on-the-go preschooler sat quietly to listen.

Content Awareness Factors:

None, really.

Little Kid Reaction

Despite the lengthy narrative, our preschooler sat through the whole book. S/He asked lots of questions about the characters and was captivated by the illustrations.

Parent Reaction

This is a fun story. Since this is the first year our child really "gets" Christmas, this is a great first step in the ideas that Christmas is about faith and believing in things, even when you may not see them.

Type of Book:
This is a story that reminds us that Christmas starts in your heart first.
Educational Themes:

This story offers opportunities to talk about family dynamics, and thanks to Chris, can open a discussion about proper behavior. But most importantly, it reminds us that Christmas is about love!
