A graphic adaptation of a classic book series.

Summary:

Claudia, vice president of The Baby-Sitters Club, is having a difficult time connecting and interacting with Jeanine, her older sister. Where Janine thinks about things logically, Claudia is more artistic and does not seem as intelligent as her sister when it comes to school. She is having trouble with math and is trying to get a good grade so that her parents will let her spend more time on her art.

While Claudia and Jeanine are arguing, they didn't notice their grandmother ... until she fainted! They rush Mimi to the hospital and learn from the doctor that their grandmother will be okay, but recovery will be difficult.  With the Baby-Sitters Club hosting their first summer playgroup and having to handle lots of children at once, Claudia's experience helps her as the girls deal with new conflicts

BTSYA / Teen Reader (15):
One thing I enjoyed about this particular book in the series is that it is sibling focused. I could understand and relate to the situations. With Mimi fainting, the story also added a bit of suspense, as the reader did not know what was going to happen.

I did not enjoy the conflicts within the Baby-Sitters Club itself. They didn't appeal to me as a reader, and I kept going so that I could find more (hidden) info about Claudie and her family.

Check out the first book of the series at the library and, based on your impression, decide if you want to buy the series. If you enjoyed Book 1, I recommend buying the series because each additional book goes into more depth about each of the characters. These books are for readers 13 to 15 beccause of the flirtatious language.
