Barn Cat is so busy looking for just one thing that she doesn't see all the interesting animals and birds to count.
The beautiful illustrations are colorful, and the counting is cleverly done in rhyming sentences. It is also helpful for animal identification.
Probably better for older toddler who follows a story and counting better.
S/He enjoys this book and trying to count.
This will be more fun when child reaches age two or so, and understands the concept of counting more.
The large pages with illustrations with the cat taking the lead draw the reader into Barn Cat's search.
Little readers are just as adept at seeking & searching as the cat…and just as thrilled when they get their 'prize.'

Started reading with child 18 months old.
Borrow it, at least to start with. There are many books available on counting and while this one is fun, it didn't catch toddler's attention as well as some others.
