We read this several times. Our child quickly picked up on the facts and by the third reading could tell us specific details about Emperor penguins. S/He would repeatedly return to the part where mothers threw up their food to feed their young.

Very clever. Barrington (a stuffed animal) is adorable. The photographs are outstanding and clever, too. Barrington's narration give us lots of details about life in an Emperor penguin colony, and based on our child's reaction, in a format that is easy for them to process.
