Bear doesn't want to be a bear anymore. His fur is too hot and he doesn't want to hibernate. Worst of all, bees are always stinging him! What can he do? Bear comes up with a plan: he will be a duck! Ducks get to swim, fly, and quack. Duck gives bear duck lessons, but being a duck is more tricky than Bear had imagined.

My kids picked this book from our selection pile and asked to read it a couple of times. They liked the story, especially the section where Bear takes duck lessons.
This is a cute and gentle book. The illustrations are adorable and the narrative is sweet. Also, the message "we are perfect as we are" is lovely.
This picture book offers kids a story about friendship and being yourself.
Self-acceptance and confidence are a large part of the message. The relationship between Duck and Bear also shows how friends help each other.

Read with children ages 3 and 5.
Borrow, at least. My kids and I really enjoyed this book, but I don't know that they would read it again and again. It would make a nice gift.
