Bully Brigade
This is an interactive text designed to help kids identify and understand bullies and bullying behavior. They also have the chance to earn their Banish Bullies badge.
You can use this book with individual children or in groups. It affirms proper social etiquette, as well as explains bullying behavior. You can test their listening skills with the built-in quizzes.
If read verbatim, young children (who tend to be literal and still working on social skills) may label themselves as bullies.
S/He recognized some of the behaviors, as they are things preschoolers tend to do: push, grab, kick.
With modification to the text, the book is helpful in affirming proper social behaviors for our preschooler. There are some elements (like name calling) that are beyond her comprehension right now.
This is less a story and more a model for opening dialogue with kids.
The question and answer format gives parents and teachers the means to talk about bullying, empathy, and social mores.
