This is a series of short, familiar lullabies to sing to a newborn or infant. The bonus: short sentences of bedtime-soothing advice to hel reassure and encourage a new parent.
Colorful pictures will make this book attractive to infants. Supportive advice that is essential for new parents struggling to soothe a new baby is an added plus.
This is not a book for experienced parents, who will see it as an "interference" in their parent/child contact.
Our son liked flipping through the book to see the pictures. He didn't want to read it with me, he wanted to look at it on his own.
This wasn't a helpful book for me. I know all the songs; I cradle my child and have eye contact when I sing to him. However, for a first-time parent, this may be more useful. My son was too old for thsi book 2 to 12 months would be idea..
Parent activity ideas complements this collection of classic nursery rhymes and songs.
This book teaches the parent how to interact with an infant, and it is most effective when tit is not needed anymore. That is, when the parent knows the songs and can sing/recite the rhymes wile holding and looking at their baby, not the book.

Skip. Most of the songs are familiar (e.g., "Hush Little Baby" and "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star." Thre is little extra "movement" to learn. It might be more beneficial for a first-time parent.
