Getting ready for Christmas is BIG work ... and Charlie is happy to supervise (between naps of course). When he discovers a Kitty under the tree, Charlie is convinced it must be a bad dream. Or not. Turns out, kittens can be just what the King of the Ranch needed.
Adorable animals and engaging illustrations carry the day in this heartwarming holiday picture book.
Our daughter loves animals and she pulled this from the shelf with a big "aw-w-w!" She liked the story "okay," but she loved the illustrations - particularly the expressions on Charlie's face.
This wouldn't be my first pick for a holiday book, but it is a cute story. The illustrations carry the day - especially the little chimpunk who is unmentioned, but moves from page to page.
This is a seasonal story in the Charlie the Ranch Dog series of picture books.
This is a story to enjoy during the Christmas season. Engage young readers by asking them what's happening on the page, and be sure to get them on the lookout for the chipmunk. With elementary-aged readers, you could stretch the book to talk about your family traditions and how you prepare for Christmas.

Borrow, at least. If you have a collection of Christmas books you share as a family each year, this is one to consider adding to your collection.
