charlie hits it big

Summary:
Charlie, a guinea pig, is looking for a better life and travels to California to be a movie star. After getting a job and meeting with many industry people, he realizes he has it better at home with his owner. He hurries home and is welcomed with open arms.
Educational Themes:
The basic theme is that there are consequences to every decision; some are good, some are bad. You can use the story to help kids understand that you are loved right where you are and will be missed if you leave. It also introduces the idea of loss, as in you will miss what you have left behind.

Little Kid Reaction:
My daughter loved the book and had me read it to her three times. She liked the pictures and the one line the guinea pig gets to say. This is a book that she picked out.
Big Kid Reaction:
This was fun to read and flowed easily. It is a great story for reminding kids that it is not always better somewhere else.

This is a book with great pictures, an easy-to-follow story, and a good message.
