Chulita The Blind Cat
Chulita, a tabby cat, was happy, healthy, and content until an accident left her blind. At first, she was frightened and in a lot of pain. With patience and help from her friends, Chulita’s life returned to normal.
This is a wholesome story that grabs a young reader’s attention immediately. Children will relate to the challenges that confronted Chulita and read and chat about the story many times.
None.
This is a slim book with a bright washable cover and a place inside for the reader to write a name. The print is large, double spaced, and so easy to read. This is a charming story of how the kitty gets rids of bullies-dogs. What I like is how she turned an enemy into a friend, and how she lives a full life of adventure despite any physical challenges. This is a book that children will want to read time and time again with great pleasure.
This is a terrific story for this age group. It is a deceptively simple story, which makes it a good conversation starter. It has the potential to pack a wallop in the hands of a creative parent or teacher re: friendship, handicapped, bullying, pain of being different, etc.
This middle reader chapter book is a story about the importance of friendship, coping with challenges, and the importance of thinking positively.
This simple story provides opportunities to explore and address the challenges of being handicapped. Coping with bullies and frustrated by limitations are just two issues that handicapped people address everyday. This story is a conversation starter that creative parents and educators can use too deal with issues that their children/students face everyday.
