Dear Fish
Peter Alan had such a great day at the beach, he invited the fish to come to visit him. When sea creatures great and small accept his invitation, life gets very interesting!
The story has lots of action (both in illustration and word choice) to keep readers attentive and/or interacting with the book. Some pages speak for themselves, without words, letting a child add his/her own story elements.
None, really. Some people may find the dark colors not to their taste.
Our preschooler loved the story. The illustrations gave her a chance to identify and recognize lots of the sea creatures she has read about in other books.
Dad didn't like this one as much as Mom did. The story has some great humor. The creativity in giving new roles to some of the ocean creatures was wonderful.
This is a picture book fantasy.
The story is about the joy of letting your imagination take over. There is plenty of ways to continue this story, from "what would you do if an X came home" to crafting an invitation that invites other flora or fauna home to write a story about what would happen.
