Down To The Sea With Mr. Magee
Mr. Magee and his little dog Dee loved to go out in the bay. They have packed plenty of snacks and a nice lunch and are ready to spend the day on the boat. Not long after they leave the harbor, they spot a pod of whales enjoying breakfast. Their quiet day quickly became an adventure when a little whale looking for adventure made the boat her toy!
Bright illustrations, subtle (but solid) rhyming words, and humor come together in this great easy reader book for kids.
None.
Our daughter laughed when the whale's water spout shot the boat up into the air. Although she said she liked the book, it wasn't one she wanted to read again.
This is a cute story. Chris Van Dusen's illustrations are as expressive and delightful as ever. Although we did most of the reading this time, this will come in handy when we want to expand our child's reading practice.
This rhyming story introduces us to Mr Magee and Dee, his dog.
This is largely a learning-to-read book that is meant to be shared and read out loud. It will offer new readers (first and second grade) wonderful opportunities to practice their skills and expand their vocabulary. If you want to expand on the book's purpose, you can talk about coincidence, problem solving, patience, and helping others.

Borrow, at least. This could easily be a buy, because the illustrations are just so much fun to look at. (Check out the milkman!) Children learning to read will benefit from shared and partner reading before reading this themselves. The story is funny eno
