Eric doesn't treat the creatures around him very well. He is mean to ants and spiders, and he kills a mosquito. A leaf falls and magic happens. Sophia, the sky fairy, tells him to hold a leaf and wish. He is transformed so that he can satisfy his curiosity about insects in a more meaningful way. Eric visits with a spider and then some ants. From the ants, he learns about life. At the end, he hides the leaf for another day.
This well-illustrated story offers lessons in respect and curiosity for young readers.
I liked this book. We do some of the things that Eric does, so we can connect with him. I liked it enough to read again.
I was happy to see my reader laugh about the book.
Learn about the insect world from their perspective with the first title in this picture book adventure series.
This is a story about respect, for ourselves and the creatures around us. It is a nice way to introduce the idea of stepping out of yourself and seeing things from someone else's perspective.
