This is a book of a little boy and his only best friend. George is so happy to have a best friend that he does everything for him and wants to be with him all of the time.
Children everywhere can relate to this book because they all have best friends and like to find out what all best friends like to do.
The students were interested in finding out what George and his best friend liked to do. Some of the kids were able to relate to the story.
I picked this out for the students. It was a heartwarming book. It is a good read aloud.
This picture book helps children understand that friendship is important, but it has boundaries, too.
The story offers several opportunities to talk about friendship and ask "what would you do" questions. You could ask older kids to write a friendship story of their own.
