There are nine butterflies getting ready for a night's rest. As each butterfly heads off to sleep, we wish each one dreams of their own color.
The butterfly count-down has been most helpful in providing a built-in queue for lights out. The pages are sturdy, the colors are bright yet soothing.
Even after 8 months, this is a regular request. As s/he has become more familiar with her colors and the elements of nature in the illustrations the book has become even more fun.
The colorful, detailed illustrations are wonderful, as is the opportunity to count down the butterflies, one by one, until they have all gone off to sleep.
A nice soothing story for sending the butterflies and your little one off to a colorful dreamland.
There's plenty to do with this story beyond just getting ready for bed. There's counting, learning colors and object identification (flowers, animals, insects).

Buy. A great bargain for a book with such diverse utility.
