Guess ... Giggle ... Wiggle

Summary:

A series of animals begs you to move like them, eat like them, and otherwise imagine what it would be like to be like them. Probably better for a group setting like a preschool or kindergarten.

Reader Enjoyment Factors:

This is a simple picture book that will inspire exercise, movement, and pretend play.

Content Awareness Factors:

The illustrations and rhyme detract from the book as a whole.

Little Kid Reaction

I picked this book. We read it together, but they didn't want to read it after the first time. My 5-year-old followed along and performed the movement activities pretty well. My 3-year-old tried his best to follow his older brother, and still moved and had fun. This book would not have worked if his older brother had not been there.

Big Kid Reaction

Yes, I liked the book because it got my kids moving and thinking. I was underwhelmed by the pictures. They look like royalty-free clip art. The text rhymes, but because it is forced, they did not add much value to the learning process.
