Happy Valentine's Day, Mouse!

Mouse is making Valentine's Day cards for his friends. As he makes each one, he thinks about what he loves about them. Just as he is getting ready to give out his valentines, there is a knock on the door ... all of his friends have brought him special valentines.

Reader Enjoyment Factors:

Playful illustrations and light text make this a fun, engaging book to share any time, not just on Valentine's Day.

Content Awareness Factors:

Little Kid Reaction
Our daughter squealed with delight as she remembered each of Mouse's friends. "I remember Moose ..." "Oh, look at Pig ..."
Big Kid Reaction
This is a delightful book and a great companion to the other If You Give books in the series. That said, the characters are named for the animal they are, so you don't have to know any of the other stories to enjoy this one. This would make an excellent easy reader.
Type of Book:
This board book re-acquaints young readers with the characters in the If You Give series.
Educational Themes:
This is a book to read just for fun. It is an excellent choice to read with toddlers and preschoolers if you want to practice concepts, colors, animal sounds, object identification. It will also be a great confidence builder for new readers, as there is a lot of repeated, familiar vocabulary.
Reading Level:
Recommended Age To Read By Yourself:
6 to 9
Recommended Age To Read Together:
1 to 5
Age of child:
Read by an 8-year-old girl.
Purchase Recommendation:
Buy! I wish I had had this when my daughter was younger. There is a lot to enjoy with this book.
