Poor Hippopotamus, he couldn't stop hiccuping. When he was with his friends, his hiccups would get in the way. Finally, his friends had had enough and tried every trick they knew to stop the hiccups. Everyone was thrilled with the recovered Hippopotamus, especially the Hippo. But then came the hiccup in their plan!
Great, action-filled illustrations and made-up words will have everyone hiccuping with laughter.
"This is so funny ... Look at those silly words." It was an instant hit and resulted in 30 minutes of "hiccuping" just for the fun of it!
This is so silly and so fun. As my daughter read, I kept thinking about what a great read aloud this would be at story time or with a group of toddlers and preschoolers. Had my 8-year-old discovered this then, we would have been reading it hundreds of times.
Silly rhyming words and great illustrations offer a story about dealing with hiccups ... and helping a friend.
This one is just for fun! I thought the made-up words would trip up my third grader. She quickly parsed them and then rebuilt them. This turned out to be a great exercise in making language work.
