Pop your fingers into the back of the book and then open it to make your "legs" do all types of dancing. From breakdancing and ballet to disco, synchronized swimming, and tap. Fun rhyme introduces kids to different forms of dance and gets them up and moving.
I had fun playing with this book! Aside from its cuteness, I love the diversity of the types of dance it introduces. Can't say I've ever read a board book that gives a nod to synchronized swimming? That is probably my favorite page, as your fingers make one leg for each of two dancers.
For those worried that this is a "girl book" based on the cover, don't. There are boys dancing, and characters of color allow all children to see themselves as dancers. This is a book that my daughter would have played with for H-O-U-R-S. The rhyme is cute, but the kids will be way more interested in the finger-legs.
The rhyme is cute and fun, but making the characters dance with your fingers will have every reader "out on the dance floor" and playing with this book.
This is an interactive board book about dancing.
Play with this book and have fun. You *could* add an extra dimension by playing some music representative of what's being shown: ballet, breakdancing, disco, tap, synchronized swimming, and tumbling.
