Tiger cub doesn't want to go to sleep. He keeps trying to talk his Mom out of going to sleep and she finally gives in. He goes wandering around the jungle to see his friends but they are all getting ready for bed or are already asleep. Everywhere he goes, the parents of his friends keep asking why he is awake. The bush baby brings him home finally and he falls right to sleep.
Young Readers (2, 4):
Both children loved the book. My daughter hates to go to sleep so she liked that part and my son loves animals so that was his favorite part. We read this several times. Sometimes they picked it out, sometimes I picked it out.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was a fun read and hit close to home. I wasn't surprised they both liked it.
Kids will adore this book with a universal theme of wanting to stay awake and not missing anything!
This is a read-before-lights-out book.
Tiger cub visits different animal families, so you can talk about different species and their babies. After reading this book, you might ask your child what their friend might be doing right now - probably getting ready for bed!
Although the theme is going to sleep, you might ask your child the kinds of things they want to do tomorrow - that they'll want to be rested up for.
