Samuel McKay is convinced that all of the fun things happen after he goes to bed. So tonight, after Dad tucks him in, Sam and Petey Bear sneak out to see for themselves. Quietly they crawled down the hall and started down the stairs, but were sent back to bed after a squeak gave them away. Undeterred, Sam and Petey try again and discover ... we're not telling. No spoilers here.
I have yet to meet a child who didn't think they were missing something after they went to bed and everyone else in the house got to stay up. I'm Really Not Tired captures the imaginative things kids think happen after lights out. The book is a bit text-heavy, but the illustrations will engage readers long enough to let you read the page. They are also "busy" enough to invite kids to just look at the pictures without reading a word. Highly recommended.
Kids will totally relate to Sam, who thinks exactly as they do: everyone is having fun and I have to go to sleep. Sweet illustrations and a vivid imagination will make this a bedtime story that gets read again and again.
This is a bedtime story with lots of imagination.
This is a fun story that captures (and propels) a child's imagination. Have fun drawing your own ideas about what happens at night!
