Mom is ready for her girls to get a bath, but sisters Lennon and Maisy Stella feel an adventure coming on! Join their imaginary journey to the beach!
Rarely do I say "skip it," but this is one of those books. Even though it is imaginative fantasy, the idea of making PB&J sandwiches to feed to sharks seems reckless. This is the audience that would take that idea and run with it!
Note: The cover recommends going to the publisher website to listen to the song, but it is no longer available. If I did decide to read it, I would make up the story from the great illustrations and skip the words written on the page.
Bright colors and repetitive phrasing will have young readers repeating the verses in no time.
Although the song is meant to rhyme, it is really hard to get the cadence without an actual tune. The link offered by the publisher no longer works.
This picture book fantasy celebrates two sisters' imaginary trip to the beach.
Enjoy the pictures. Explore the pages with toddlers and ask what they see the girls doing. Let them create the story (and skip the text on the page).

Skip. The illustrations are great, but the story/poem/song is not very appealing or catchy.
