isabella: girl on the go

Summary:
Isabella tells her father that her name is not Isabella. She is a certain type of person, like an astronomer. Each time he calls her that new person, she says she is not that person but another type of person. This goes on throughout the day as Isabella helps her dad work in the yard.
Educational Themes:
The story moves through a series of influential places and introduces different types of careers. Because of that, you can use the book to guide you in different directions ... read more about the famous places and the interesting careers, as well as find biographies on people in those careers.
Reading Level:
2.7
Recommended Age To Read By Yourself:
8 to 10
Recommended Age To Read Together:
3 to 8
Age of child:
Read with a 4-year-old girl.
Purchase Recommendation:
Borrow, at best. I would buy the original and skip this all together.
Little Kid Reaction
Initially, my daughter was initially extremely excited about this book. We have the original story - My Name is Not Isabella - which she loves. She was engaged reading it the first time but said she didn't like it. We read it several more times but she never changed her mind.
Big Kid Reaction
I did not like this book. I love the original and have actually given it as gifts to friends. This one doesn't flow well. It is choppy and the themes don't really go together. It had a high standard to live up to and it did not come close.
Pros:

In introducing her various selves, Isabella showcases things / career fields that have changed the world. Sharing this book could introduce children to those places.

Cons:

The story didn't flow well. It felt like the author was trying to force it to be something it wasn't.
