Journeys; The Adventures Of Leaf
There is a rock jutting out from the side of a mountain. A small maple tree grew in that spot.
The illustrations by seventh graders add to the fun of this book. Kids will relate to leaf's adventures.
None.
The kids thought the leaves were beautiful and colorful. They liked that a new tree grew after the leaves fell off the tree. They made a connection with the tree because they like swinging in trees. They asked to read the story again.
I liked the book because my kids enjoyed it. This was a wonderful book: very interesting and educational. I wished it could have been longer.
This is a picture book about the cycle of life.
The story makes it easy to talk about the natural cycle of life, both literally (like a tree) and as a broader concept. Leaf's adventures also give you the opportunity to draw out specific vignettes (like loss, friendship, choices).
