Julie Andrews' Collection Of Poems, Songs, And Lullabies
This is a book filled with poems and songs all about different aspects of everyday life. There is a poem about an Ice Cream Man; there are some about dreams and falling asleep; and there are even some about nature. There is such a variety of poetry everyone will find ones they enjoy!
This is a great introduction to poetry for kids. The poems are easy to read and divided into sections that made the book enjoyable, with themes the kids can relate to.
None.
I picked this book to have my daughter read some poetry. She really enjoyed a lot of the poems. She thought they were easy to understand and fun to read. She especially enjoyed the CD that came with the book where some of them were performed for her to listen to. She enjoyed them and talked about them for the next couple days wanting to try to memorize a couple of them.
I loved it! This is filled with great poems! Some of them were new ones, even some by Julie Andrews, and some were very familiar ones that I could almost recite from memory. It was divided into sections that made them very easy to read and enjoy: Growing Up, Bedtime Blessing, Talk to the Animals, etc. I am so happy this was one of the first poetry books that I think she really liked and related to so many of the poems.
This anthology introduces poetry and complements it with music. It comes with a CD.
The poems cover lots of subjects (humor, love, nature, caring for others, etc), and some are silly. Ultimately they show that you can write (and have fun) with just about anything.
