Think you know what happened to January? Bet you don't!

Summary:

Flynn's girlfriend is missing  – as in one day January is here, and the next day she’s gone. He knows he didn't do it: he hasn’t spoken to her since the Friday before she went missing when they broke up. But he's the primary suspect because he is the long-term boyfriend.

Flynn is just as lost as everyone else, and even more lost when he begins to see that everything surrounding January may not have been as it once seemed. Add to that the fact that Flynn is currently dealing with an identity issue himself, and you have yourself a mystery and then some!

BTSYA / Teen Reader (18):
Hands down, I love this book. The mystery aspect is handled so well that it constantly keeps you on the edge of your seat. As a person who can usually figure out exactly what happened a few chapters in, I was so pleasantly surprised to find that up until the reveal I had no clue what had truly happened.

The characters are so fleshed out and detailed that it is impossible not to love them. I can say that when I started the book, I wasn’t expecting what I got, and what I got was so much better than I could’ve ever imagined. I hands down recommend this book to anyone 16 and older. Although the audience is listed as "13-17," because of the implied sexual content and frequent use of mature language.

Reader Enjoyment Factors:

Well developed characters and a sophisticated plot will have readers investing in their "friends" and reading chapter after chapter to solve the mystery of what happened to January.

Content Awareness Factors:

There is violence, sexual violence, and profanity throughout the book.

Type of Book:
This is a coming-of-age mystery that goes much deeper than just a missing teenage girl.
Educational Themes:

Although your teen is likely to want to read this on their own, it is a book that can be shared and can open some discussion. In addition to stopping periodically to try to solve the mystery, there are opportunities to talk about secrets, self-worth, and doing the right thing.
