Leo is a young lion who wanders from his mother. His story tells about how he faces danger on his own, finds his mother again, and, in the process, grows up just a little bit.
Young Readers (3, 5):
My 3 year old liked picking out the capital letters (the first letter of the first word on each page is in super large capital letters). The rest of the story was somewhat lost on him, which is surprising since he usually loves animals so much. Both boys liked the story, but they didn't react strongly to it.
I didn't like this book. There were too many words on each page.
The book has a good message (i.e., moral of the story), and you see the animals in their native habitat. The CD that comes with the book is very cool.
Although billed for "4 to 8," there are too many words on page for the young side of this audience. It would be better for older children.
Learn about growing up as a lion in this picture book with CD.
There is lots of information about lions, other animals, and their habitat.
