ISO a Picture Book Playmate

Summary:

Yellow Dot is bored. It needs your help to get moving. Time to have some fun and explore the world!

Parent Perspective:
Yes, I freely admit that I was following Yellow Dot's instructions: running my finger along the page and repeating the magic phrases. Just as I was thinking "this is getting a little boring" new things showed up to re-engage my curiosity. Brilliant! What a fun book for engaging kids - especially those who like to "do" stuff as they read.

Reader Enjoyment Factors:

Kids won't be able to resist helping Yellow Dot! This is a book meant to be played with and shared.

Content Awareness Factors:

None, though I don't think it would be too hard for over-anxious toddlers to tear the pages trying too quickly to get to the next spot in the adventure.

Type of Book:
A yellow dot is narrator and main character in this adventure where the reader participates, too.
Educational Themes:

Let your child's imagination take over! With each 2-page spread, they will learn about opposites (up, down, high, low) as well as colors, emotions, counting, and even working together.

Reading Level:
1.8
Recommended Age To Read By Yourself:
6 and Up
Recommended Age To Read Together:
2 to 5
Purchase Recommendation:
Buy. For every time you read the book with your child, they will read it many more times by themselves.
