Spend some time in the garden, as our young narrator tells us about all the things that are in her beloved fruit ... little yellow pear tomatoes. Sure, there's vitamins and minerals, but lots of other very special stuff, too!
Young Reader (6):
There were several times where we had to slow down so that our child could explore the illustrations. She loved finding the things that the words talked about, but also discovering the things that weren't!
What a wonderful book. The story is fun, and the illustrations are enchanting. They work together seamlessly ... not too many words, not too busy pictures. We had fun exploring with our child, and we would make a game of finding things (like ladybugs) throughout the book.
Children will enjoy this simple story and phenomenal illustrations. Although it is fiction, there is an opportunity to learn about plants and how they grow.
This is a picture book that celebrates all the things we overlook about our food ... unless we plant a garden.
This is an excellent book for exploring. The story is strong, and the illustrations add layers that encourage kids to enjoy reading.
