Purchase Recommendation:
Buy. This sturdy board book will let children play at reading and "writing" by mixing parts and pieces to craft their own stories.
Little Kid Reaction
Our child loved this book. Even though s/he can't read yet, it didn't take long to learn the main players. Then s/he created stories all their own.
Big Kid Reaction
This was a fun read. Once our preschooler learned to identify the characters, s/he was content to "write" her own stories, without us sitting nearby.
Pros:

You can expand beyond rote comic stories to create your own one-line adventures. The moving parts make this an engaging book to play with (no matter what your age).

Cons:

None, really. We wished there were a few more pages.
