When neighbor Baby Lincoln shows up in the back seat, Mercy decides its her turn to drive. Things get a little scary ... and Officer Tomilello brings the gang home in his police cruiser. What will happen to everyone?
This illustrated picture book is great for developing readers, and has a very good picture-to-text ratio for reluctant readers who need more sophisticated stories.
The story may seem choppy to some, its cadence will remind you of a Dick and Jane book.
Mercy is our favorite pig. Our daughter always wants to read the entire book ... stopping along the way to enjoy the illustrations. She really focuses in on the facial expressions.
The story is fun ... but the illustrations are terrific. Although this is a new book, it will remind you of some of the easy readers you had as a second or third grader.
This illustrated chapter book is one of several Mercy adventures about discovering the world.
Given the target audience, the value of this book is vocabulary development (listening vocabulary and reading vocabulary). There are lessons to talk about, not the least of which is rules matter.
