merry christmas (a sparkle 'n' shimmer book)

Summary:
The family is busy preparing for Christmas, and there is plenty for everyone to do.
Educational Themes:
The simple descriptions serve well to engage youngsters (who don't understand all the hoopla yet) in the excitement of preparing for Christmas.
Reading Level:
0.0
Recommended Age To Read By Yourself:
6 to 8
Recommended Age To Read Together:
0 to 4
Age of child:
Read with child 12 months old; read again with child nearly 2 years old.
Purchase Recommendation:
Skip it if you can. There are plenty of toddler-oriented holiday books with real stories.
Little Kid Reaction
At one year, the textures were enough. At nearly 2 years, the book is a MUST READ every night.
Big Kid Reaction
The story is mundane and plainly describes the things associated with Christmas (wrapping gifts, decorating the tree, drinking hot cocoa).
Pros:

It entertains our toddler, who LOVES the routine of it and has begun repeating some of the activities.

Cons:

S/He may like reading it a lot, but it isn't a book that stands up to lots of parental entertainment. Even hiding it hasn't worked.
