The Scare family - Papa, Mama, and Baby - lived in a big haunted house. Each of them had their own reasons for wanting a fourth person in their family: Papa's recipes served 4 people; Mama wanted an assistant with her experiments; and Baby wanted someone to play with. While they wait for their soup to cool, the Scares take their monster pet for a walk. Little did they know that the aroma of that soup would lure Moldilocks into their house. Uh oh, she fell asleep in Baby's bed. What happens next?
Although this is most likely seen as a Halloween book, it is a story that can be read all year long. This is exactly the kind of story my daughter would want over and over again for months! The story is light, the monsters are "cute," and the illustrations have plenty of side humor.
As an adult, you can figure out where the story is going from the beginning. Kids - at least the first time through - may be surprised by the delightful ending. For adoptive families, there is the added bonus of having a fun book where your children can see themselves in the story. Highly recommended for the family focus and adoption.
Fans of Goldilocks and the Three Bears will think they know this story. But they don't! This is a fun, remake of the classic children's story. Perfect for Halloween or any other time of the year.
None. These are not scary monsters.
This is a Halloween-ish themed fractured fairy tale based on Goldilocks and the Three Bears
The story tracks pretty closely - but not totally - with the traditional fairy tale, Goldilocks and the 3 Bears. Ask your reader to point out what's the same and what's different. Enjoy exploring the pages. There are other little "side activities" on the page. What do your kids see?
