Turning Fear on its Ear!
Molly likes being home. It's the place she feels safest. She loves playing with Sir Lance, and he keeps her safe. She decides that the key to being safe at school is to be like Sir Lance. So Molly decides that wearing armor to school will protect her. Does it work?
The story is fun for everyone to read, with humor we all can enjoy. The book will be especially valuable for parents trying to help children get over the fear of something new and unknown.
None.
Our soon-to-be Kindergartner instantly found the humor in the story. S/He REALLY liked Molly's curly red hair.
This is one of the best books we've seen for this genre. The rhyming verse and humor combine to make this soothing without being preachy ... or talking down to the target audience.
This is a picture book that uses humor to help soothe those first-day-of-school fears.
Although focused on school, the story can apply to other scenarios where kids face something they view as daunting. It also is a nice springboard for creating one's own fantasy about how to approach something new.
