Delightful, Bright and Sweet, too!

Summary:

Scurry has a sunflower seed that he wants to plant in the garden. But before he can sow his seed, his little brother Scamp eats it. Disappointed but not discouraged, the mice brothers head down the lane to find more seed. With the help of a friendly cow, they have a delicious snack AND bring home enough seeds to plant a garden. Scamp is a bit impatient and doesn't understand why the seed didn't grow right away. Scurry finds the perfect activity to take his mind and help him with waiting.

Parent Perspective:
Mommy's Little Sunflowers is definitely meant to be shared with siblings sitting side by side! The illustrations, with their bold color, are detailed enough to let young readers explore, but not get lost before it's time to turn the page. The story layers the ideas of being a kind and forgiving big brother with doing something special for Mom, and gardening, too. This is a book I would definitely buy and pair with seeds and child-sized garden tools.

Reader Enjoyment Factors:

Scurry and Scamp are adorable mice with a fun story to tell. Kids will relate to wanting to do something special for Mom and will likely be inspired to plant their own garden.
