Mr. Putter And Tabby Feed The Fish
Mr. Putter and Tabby like to watch the fish at the pet store. One day, Mr. Putter decides to buy some fish to bring home, only to discover that Tabby has a “fish problem." Will Mrs. Teaberry and Zeke be able to help Mr. Putter solve the problem?
This is a very good beginning chapter book. There are wonderful illustrations that hold the child's interest and help with the text.
None.
I picked out this book because my son likes this series. He was reluctant to read the book at first (very reluctant reader) but quickly began to enjoy the story. He laughed aloud at the illustration of Tabby with “fish eyes.”
I like this entire series. The book is almost too easy for this reader, although there were a few new words that he learned (e.g.,exercise). Despite his reluctance, I knew my son would like this one because he and his brother like the other books in the series.
This easy reader offers humor and life lessons for new readers.
My son is in the second grade and learning short vowels and doubling consonants with suffixes. The “bat” and “batting” themes in this book reinforced this lesson. There are natural places in the story where you can stop and ask questions before you turn the page. For example, "what should Mr. Putter do about Tabby's fish eyes?"

Read by an 8-year-old boy.
Borrow. I would buy this if I were giving more than one book in the series as a gift. Otherwise, it is a good book to check out of the library.
