My Adventure With Dinosaurs; Where You Create The Story #2
It's time to jump into your time machine and go back to the time when dinosaurs roamed the earth. What did the world look like - you decide. As you walk around, you describe everything you see: the trees, the food, and of course, the dinosaurs.
This is a fun book to engage kids in creative writing and using their imaginations. Kids who are ready to move beyond pretend play but still want to use their imaginations can create their own world with this book.
There are no hints to which part of speech fit in the blank. It would be helpful for younger writers who haven't had formal grammar lessons to know when they need a noun, an action word, or a descriptive word.
Our daughter, who doesn't like to write, has been working her way through this book for about a week. She picks this out herself and has talked repeatedly about how fun it is to write the story.
This is a fun story. We like that it engages her imagination both in word selection and in having to create the illustrations that go with the story. This will be a keepsake when we're done. We were surprised by the reading level of this book. Third grade would seem to be at the edge of the interest level in this type of story.
This is an interactive story where children add words to create the tale and illustrate their work.
