My Grandparents And I - Mis Abuelos Y Yo
Our young narrator takes us through a year with all of the things he likes to do with his grandparents, as well as the events he celebrates with his family.
The pictures are bright and the vignettes are those that kids not only will recognize, but likely celebrate with their family. For rusty speakers of either language, the bilingual narrative is most helpful.
None, it just wasn't a grabber in our house.
S/He initially liked looking at the pictures, but consistently lost interest after a few pages.
There is less a story than a collection of abuelos-y-yo vignettes. The narrative is longer than a typical picture book, and it is nice to have both the Spanish and English text.
This is a book with text in both Spanish and English.
Beyond expanding vocabulary and learning Spanish, readers can talk about special family times, love and memories.
