A little girl is enjoying a beautiful day outside. She was so busy, she got tired, and fell asleep. The tickle of a butterfly woke her from her nap, but it was the small voice of a baby star that captured her attention. The baby star is lost and wants his Nana. The little girl promises to help the star return to the sky and becomes Nana Star to help.
The main character, Nana Star, is one children will relate to. They are naturally curious and generous, and the story shows them how they can channel and share those things with others.

Read with 7-year-old girl.
Borrow. This is a lovely, well-illustrated story. The CD offers a read-along opportunity which allows kids to enjoy the story independently, too.
It took several attempts before we got through this book with our daughter. Although she told us she liked it, she was always quick to ask for another book.
We were surprised by our daughter's reaction. It has everything she loves: butterflies, a baby, and a beautiful blue dress. We liked the story and the simplicity of the illustrations. The music on the CD is nice.
Simple illustrations and a touching story will engage young readers in meeting Nana Star and baby star.
The ending was a bit abrupt and we meet a new character on the last page. This is a set-up for the next book and it feels like it. The audio version is well narrated, though it would be nice to have a page marker (a sound) so that pre-readers know when to turn the page.
