Over land, under the sea, and finally at home ...

Summary:

The moon is rising, and the day is done. From page to page a poem helps us bid goodnight to the world outside - from fields and forest to ponds and deep below the ocean. At the end of the journey, after wishing for sweet dreams everywhere, we come indoors, where a mother is nestled with her child and kisses them goodnight.

Parent Perspective:
Absolutely fabulous. The poem is simple in its vocabulary and eloquent in creating that sing-song you want in a lullaby. Young children will love exploring the dark pages, saying goodnight to creatures familiar and new. This goes on my list for new baby gifts.

Reader Enjoyment Factors:

A soothing, lyrical rhyme creates a lullaby that ends with a hug, kiss, and wish for sweet dreams. The illustrations add to the ambiance, too.
